Role Overview
The Enterprise Risk Manager will spearhead risk management efforts across all company operations. Collaborating with management at various levels, you will identify and address key strategic and operational risks and opportunities, implementing a thorough risk framework and fostering a culture of risk awareness throughout Mercury. The role is based at the Dublin Head Office with travel to project sites as required.
Key Duties
- Help management pinpoint, evaluate, and handle significant risks that might affect Mercury’s reputation, objectives, or financial status.
- Develop and oversee a dynamic risk management framework that adapts to emerging risks.
- Establish and maintain high-quality risk policies, procedures, and practices.
- Promote a robust risk culture by raising awareness and encouraging ownership of risk at all organizational levels, supporting leadership in advancing risk methodologies.
- Enable personnel across departments to comprehend their risk exposures and incorporate risk considerations in decision-making.
- Ensure consistent and cohesive risk management practices company-wide.
- Design and conduct educational sessions and communications to improve risk understanding and engagement.
- Create and sustain effective monitoring and reporting systems suited for management, leadership, and the board.
- Support the upkeep of business continuity and crisis management strategies.
- Collaborate with second line functions to develop an integrated assurance framework.
Essential Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise as an Enterprise Risk Manager or comparable position within a commercial setting.
- Proficient knowledge of risk management methodologies and practices.
- Strong analytical abilities coupled with a solutions-oriented approach.
- Effective negotiation and influencing capabilities.
- A commercial mindset with the ability to engage stakeholders with varying knowledge levels of risk management.
- Ability to work well in team environments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Educational background in business, finance, risk management, or equivalent fields.
Preferred Experience
- Background in rapidly expanding commercial organizations.
- Experience building risk management frameworks from foundational stages.
- Industry-specific experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
