Job Overview and Responsibilities

This role involves responding promptly to repair requests from guests and effectively communicating to resolve maintenance concerns. The position requires performing preventive upkeep on a range of equipment including kitchen and mechanical room machinery, involving cleaning and lubrication tasks. A key part of the role includes visual inspection of tools and equipment, carrying necessary tools and radios, and operating all relevant shut-off valves and utility controls within the buildings.

The electrician will maintain and replenish maintenance inventory and parts as necessary. Effective communication with other shifts using established programs to update on daily work and issues is essential. The role necessitates a foundational knowledge or willingness to acquire skills in diverse areas such as air conditioning and refrigeration systems, electrical and mechanical maintenance, plumbing, pneumatic and electronic controls, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicle maintenance, and overall building energy conservation.

Additional tasks include completing surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repairs, replacing light bulbs and air conditioning filters, and ensuring thorough cleanup after maintenance activities. Diagnostic and basic repair work on electrical and plumbing items, such as unclogging drains, replacing switches and outlets, and servicing guestroom equipment like televisions and vacuum cleaners, are also required.

Safety protocols such as using the Lockout/Tagout system before maintenance work must be strictly followed. Responsibilities extend to maintaining both interior and exterior landscaping, including irrigation systems. Basic computer literacy to manage air handler schedules and temperature settings is needed.

Adherence to company safety, security, and conduct policies is mandatory, including reporting hazards, accidents, and completing safety training. The role requires maintaining professional appearance and confidentiality, as well as protecting company assets. Greeting guests courteously, addressing their needs proactively, assisting guests with disabilities, and ensuring guest appreciation are important facets of the position.

Employees should maintain quality standards, foster positive team relationships, support collective goals, and communicate clearly and professionally. Physical demands include lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds independently and heavier items with support, navigating stairs and ladders, and performing bending and twisting movements as part of the work.

Qualifications and Other Details

The preferred educational qualification is a high school diploma or equivalent G.E.D. Experience relevant to general maintenance, surface preparation, painting, and hotel engineering or maintenance is advantageous but not mandatory. This position does not require supervisory experience.

A valid driver's license is required for this role.
