About the Role

Join US Foods as a Driver Check In Clerk based in Salem, VA. This role is essential in verifying and processing all returned products and invoices from drivers, ensuring accuracy in accounting codes for the division's profit and loss account. The position offers a night shift schedule from 8 PM to 4:30 AM, Monday through Friday, and rewards dedication with competitive pay and benefits from day one.

Responsibilities

• Confirm accuracy of returned products and associated invoices using correct accounting codes.
• Ensure returned products meet temperature and quality standards to maintain integrity.
• Handle both physical and electronic documentation related to returns and order adjustments to guarantee inventory and billing accuracy.
• Inspect returned items and categorize them appropriately for saleable status, damage recovery, or disposal.
• Complete end-of-day procedures and reports, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
• Return saleable products to designated storage locations following local agreements.
• Collaborate with drivers and transportation supervisors to resolve issues, provide training, and improve processes.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification.
• At least three years of experience with warehouse and delivery operations.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with solid math and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work independently on complex tasks and manage priorities.
• Proficient basic computer skills and filing capability.
• Physical ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, and occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
• Demonstrated teamwork skills and willingness to support colleagues.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly wage for this role ranges from $25.00 to $27.00 based on experience and qualifications, with overtime pay available.
