Drilling Operator

Role summary

Element Materials Technology is hiring a Drilling Operator to join its growing team in Kaki Bukit, Singapore. In this position, you will carry out both routine and more varied drilling-related tasks within the assigned department, while helping ensure test results are completed accurately and on time under close supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Run the drilling rig competently and complete drilling work in a safe, efficient manner.
• Collect soil and rock samples consistently and maintain their quality.
• Support geologists with in-situ soil testing activities.
• Carry out drilling and installation work for borehole instruments, including water stand pipes, piezometers, and inclinometers.
• Complete daily safety checks and maintenance inspections so the rig remains in proper working order.
• Follow workplace safety rules and safe work procedures at all times.

Skills and qualifications

• Practical, hands-on work style with a strong mechanical inclination.
• Prior experience in an engineering setting is an advantage.
• Background in a mechanical testing environment is beneficial.
• Familiarity with quality management systems such as ISO 17025 is a plus.
• Self-driven technician who can manage multiple tasks, stay organised, and work effectively under pressure.
• Strong attention to detail, along with clear written and spoken communication.
• Team-oriented approach with good analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
