Overview

Fetzer Architectural Woodwork is looking to hire a full-time Drafter in Salt Lake City, Utah. The role involves creating detailed shop drawings, ensuring design and construction solutions maintain the company's long-standing reputation for quality craftsmanship. This position requires interpreting architectural plans to produce precision technical drawings that guide craftsmen in fabricating high-end millwork.

Key Responsibilities

The Drafter will collaborate closely with Project Managers to address structural challenges, research appropriate materials and hardware, and generate necessary sketches to support vendors and production teams.

Required Skills and Experience

Ideal candidates should have proficiency in AutoCAD, with 3D skills in Autodesk Inventor considered a plus. Strong organization and the ability to interpret complex architectural drawings are essential. Previous woodworking experience is highly advantageous. Candidates should possess design insight to visualize intent and foresee construction issues, coupled with good communication skills to coordinate with part-listers, programmers, and project management. A positive, solution-driven mindset is important. An associate degree in design or drafting is preferred.

Working Conditions

This is an hourly paid, non-exempt role typically scheduled Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., although hours may vary depending on project demands. Work takes place primarily in an office setting involving extended periods of sitting or standing at a computer workstation. Management retains the right to modify job duties and responsibilities at any time.
