Job description
Role Overview
As a Pharmacy Dispenser at Boots UK, you will be an integral part of the pharmacy team, supporting pharmacists and healthcare professionals to ensure safe and efficient delivery of pharmacy and healthcare services. Your role involves engaging with patients by understanding their health needs, dispensing prescriptions, managing medicine safety, and offering informed health advice.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely dispense prescriptions including ordering, labelling, endorsing, and managing collections.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to assist in managing pharmacy services.
- Provide patients with medicine-related advice and direct inquiries to the Pharmacist when necessary.
- Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures to support legal and safe dispensing.
- Stay informed on innovations and follow operational protocols.
- Help patients manage prescriptions effectively to promote adherence and reduce medicine waste.
- Utilize evolving technology to enhance dispensing accuracy and patient safety.
Qualifications and Eligibility
- Completion of Pharmacy Advisor NVQ Level 2 or equivalent, or at least the first year of an MPharm degree.
- Must have valid UK right to work; no visa sponsorship available.
- Prior experience in community pharmacy is advantageous but not mandatory.
Additional Information
This is an in-store role in the UK; remote candidates or those without UK qualifications and rights to work will not be considered. Applicants will undergo pre-employment screening including background checks (DBS, PVG, or Access NI depending on location).
