Job description

Role Overview

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) works closely with individuals experiencing developmental disabilities, supporting them to live independently within their homes and communities. This role involves assisting people with daily activities, fostering their personal growth and development, and ensuring they maintain connections within their community. DSPs respect each individual's unique abilities and promote their autonomy in directing their own lives.

Working Hours and Compensation

This is a full-time position offering a regular schedule of 32 hours per week with opportunities to pick up additional shifts to reach a minimum of 35 hours weekly. The role includes alternate weekend work. The pay rate ranges from $25.18 to $29.46 per hour.

Qualifications and Preferences

  • Experience supporting individuals in community settings, especially those with autism, is preferred.
  • Possession of a full G driver's license and personal insurance is desirable.
  • Relevant educational background such as Developmental Services Worker certification, Child and Youth Worker diploma, or other related post-secondary education enhances candidacy.
