Job description
About the Role
As a Developer Relations Engineer at nineDots.io, you will champion developer adoption and understanding of our AI infrastructure platform throughout the APAC region. Unlike conventional DevRel positions focused primarily on community engagement or content creation, this role demands hands-on coding, product testing, building integrations, and articulating technical concepts clearly. You will represent the company at developer events across cities such as Singapore, Tokyo, Kuala Lumpur, and Sydney.
Responsibilities
- Develop demos, sample projects, and integrations demonstrating the capabilities of the platform.
- Create comprehensive technical documentation, guides, blog entries, and product explanations.
- Act as the company’s technical ambassador at developer events, meetups, conferences, and customer interactions throughout APAC.
- Engage hands-on with APIs, SDKs, command-line tools, and sandbox environments.
- Test emerging platform features and relay actionable feedback to engineering teams.
- Assist developers in using cloud sandboxes tailored for AI agents, continuous integration/deployment workflows, and coding environments.
- Support go-to-market teams with in-depth technical insights for product launches, integrations, and partnership discussions.
- Convert developer and customer queries into valuable content, sample code, and suggestions for product enhancements.
- Build trust and credibility with technical users by providing concrete value beyond just visibility.
Qualifications
- Proficient coding skills with the ability to craft authentic technical examples.
- Experience in developer relations, developer advocacy, solutions engineering, field engineering, or similarly technical roles involving external users.
- Comfortable working with APIs, SDKs, CLI tools, and developer infrastructure platforms.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
- Confidence in delivering presentations, recording demos, and simplifying technical ideas to varied audiences.
- Adept at collaborating across engineering, product, partnership, and commercial divisions.
- Interest in AI-driven coding tools, agent-based workflows, cloud infrastructure, and developer tool ecosystems.
- Self-motivated and able to function effectively within a distributed, remote-first environment.
- Good judgement to identify developer needs for understanding, building, and adoption of technology.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with Go, Python, TypeScript, or related programming languages.
- Knowledge of Docker, containerization, sandboxing, Kubernetes, or cloud-native infrastructure.
- Experience creating demos for developer tools or infrastructure platforms.
- Background in open-source projects, technical writing, or managing developer communities.
- Exposure to AI code assistants like Claude Code, Cursor, OpenCode, or similar.
- Experience supporting developer events or communities across the APAC region.
- Previous roles at early or growth-stage developer tool companies.
Benefits and Opportunities
- Engage in a hands-on developer relations role focused on rapidly evolving AI infrastructure.
- Take full ownership of demos, integrations, content creation, event participation, and fostering developer adoption.
- Collaborate closely with developers building AI agents, coding utilities, and reinforcement learning setups.
- Play a key role in shaping the company’s presence in the APAC region from its Singapore base.
- Work in close partnership with engineering, product, partnership, and commercial teams.
- Receive competitive remuneration aligned with Singapore market standards.
- Contribute to a fast-growing infrastructure company at an early stage of regional expansion.
Additional Information
This position is based in Singapore and is open to candidates currently located there or willing to relocate. We welcome engineers who thrive in building, articulating, and engaging directly with developer communities to reach out confidentially with their resume for further discussion.
