Database Engineer - Database Administrator

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Database Engineer responsible for the design, monitoring, implementation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance optimization of database systems to ensure they are highly available, scalable, and reliable.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement database systems with a focus on ensuring high availability and reliability.
• Develop software tools and utilities that automate and improve management of large-scale databases.
• Detect, locate faults in databases, and create stop-loss solutions to speed up anomaly recovery.
• Work closely with application development teams to enhance database performance and reliability.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to maintain system uptime and resolve critical database problems swiftly.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Possess at least a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Programming, or a related field.
• Have a solid understanding of TCP/IP, data structures, algorithms, operating systems, networking, databases, and computer architecture.
• Basic knowledge of database theory and system architectures, including concepts such as indexing, transactions, ACID properties, MVCC, Raft, sharding, CAP theorem, and high availability configurations.
• Experience with at least one backend programming language such as Python, Golang, or Java.
• Familiarity with Unix/Linux environments and networking is advantageous.
• Experience working with database technologies like MySQL, Redis, MongoDB, HDFS, and HBase is preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Proficiency in both Chinese and English languages is preferred.
