Customer Delivery Driver - Swindon

About the Role

Serving as the representative of Tesco on the roads, Customer Delivery Drivers engage directly with customers at their homes daily. This position involves more than just driving; it requires delivering exceptional customer service with a friendly attitude. The work is physically active and varied, with each shift offering a different experience. Drivers primarily work independently but have the support of a team of managers and colleagues at the depot when needed.

Working Hours

• Sunday: 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Monday: 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Tuesday: 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM
• Wednesday: 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM
• Saturday: 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of your van, trays, and work area to ensure every customer's delivery is in excellent condition.
• Load the van safely and perform all necessary checks to confirm it is roadworthy and prepared for service.
• Communicate with customers regarding any changes, substitutions, or short-dated items related to their orders in a courteous and reassuring manner, including processing refunds to ensure smooth experiences.
• Handle all products with great care, treating each order as if it were your own to preserve quality and customer trust.
• Deliver orders within designated time slots, providing warm and genuine service at the customer's doorstep, ensuring they feel valued and well cared for.

Candidate Requirements

• Ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues to foster a supportive team environment and deliver excellent customer service.
• Demonstrate a warm and welcoming demeanor toward both customers and coworkers.
• Adapt quickly to changing customer needs and embrace flexibility while on the road and at the store.
• Hold a valid UK, EU, or EEA driving licence (full or automatic) for a minimum of 12 months, with no more than three penalty points.

Compensation and Benefits

• Starting hourly pay of £14.18, increasing to £15.45 in locations within the M25, with some areas offering additional payments.
• A guaranteed minimum of 16 hours per week, with options for roles starting from 12 hours weekly.
