About the Role
At Lidl Ireland, from our headquarters to every store, we strive to provide an exceptional shopping experience for our customers. If you are energetic, passionate about customer service, and eager to learn daily, join us as a Customer Assistant in our Newbridge location on a standard 30-hour weekly contract, earning at least €460 per week.
Typical Daily Activities
Retail work varies, but your duties may include:
- Morning shifts starting at 5 or 6 AM to ensure shelves are fully stocked and bakery goods are fresh for opening.
- Midday shifts focused on maintaining a clean, inviting store environment, assisting customers, and managing tills efficiently to reduce queues.
- Evening shifts focused on customer service at tills, restocking items, and preparing the store for the next day.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver friendly, helpful customer interactions.
- Adhere strictly to stock loss prevention practices.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene both inside and outside the store.
- Apply freshness standards and rotate stock appropriately.
- Manage waste disposal correctly.
- Support stock counting activities.
Qualifications and Attributes
- A positive, proactive approach complemented by excellent customer service skills.

- Applicants must be at least 18 years old to sell alcohol.
- Previous customer-facing experience is advantageous but not essential when paired with the right attitude.
Compensation and Benefits
Our transparent pay structure ensures equal remuneration across all roles, with hourly rates increasing with service length as follows:
- Year 1 basic pay of €15.40/hour, with supplements for unsocial hours (€19.25), overtime and Sundays (€23.10), and bank holidays (€30.80).
- Year 2: €16.20 basic, €20.25 unsocial, €24.30 overtime/Sundays, €32.40 bank holiday.
- Year 3: €16.90 basic, €21.13 unsocial, €25.35 overtime/Sundays, €33.80 bank holiday.
- Year 4: €17.90 basic, €22.38 unsocial, €26.85 overtime/Sundays, €35.80 bank holiday.
