Job Overview
The role requires candidates to work on-site in Bangalore as a Process Specialist within the Credit Risk Underwriter domain. The position entails reviewing merchant credit applications, carrying out risk assessments, and making underwriting decisions aligned with internal policies, sponsor bank guidelines, and regulatory mandates. Timely and accurate processing while mitigating credit and fraud risk is central to this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze merchant credit applications, their financial status, and transaction histories.
- Assess credit exposure and recommend underwriting decisions based on company and sponsor bank policies.
- Evaluate risks such as potential credit exposure, fraud probability, and business viability prior to approval or rejection.
- Liaise with merchants, sales teams, and other internal stakeholders to gather necessary information.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory, legal, and card network requirements (Visa/Mastercard).
- Maintain precise documentation and audit trails for all decisions made.
- Deliver timely adjudication of applications within established service level agreements (SLAs).
- Report complex or high-risk cases to senior underwriters or management.
- Participate in process enhancement initiatives to improve exposure controls and minimize losses.
Qualifications and Skills
- Any graduate degree, preferably in Finance, Commerce, Business, or related disciplines.
- 2 to 4 years of professional experience in credit underwriting, exposure evaluation, or financial analysis.
- Strong analytical capabilities with keen attention to detail and sound decision-making skills.
- Proficient understanding of financial statements, credit exposure principles, and fraud detection indicators.
- Knowledge of payments industry operations, merchant acquiring, or fintech is advantageous.
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to function efficiently in a fast-paced, SLA-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and experience with exposure assessment tools.
- Familiarity with sponsor bank guidelines and card network regulations is preferred.
- Experience in merchant onboarding, KYC processes, and underwriting systems is a plus.

- Original educational certificates need to be available for verification, including 10th, 12th, graduation semester-wise mark sheets, provisional, and original degrees.

- Laptops and cameras are prohibited at the venue for security reasons.
