Role Overview
We're seeking a Creator Marketing Manager for our European marketing division to enhance and scale our creator-driven paid advertisement initiatives. This role involves sourcing, contracting, briefing, and managing creators across Europe to deliver engaging short-form video content optimized for paid social channels.
This position uniquely blends creator partnerships, performance marketing, and creative strategy. Responsibilities include collaborating with creators of varying scales—from small UGC-focused individuals to prominent influencers in relevant categories—and leveraging these collaborations into a streamlined flow of authentic, compelling, and high-performing advertisement creative.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a scalable portfolio of European creators producing content for paid performance campaigns.
- Identify and onboard creators across priority markets and categories, from micro UGC creators to major influencers.
- Manage end-to-end creator engagement using diverse outreach methods, including emails, direct messages, talent platforms, and referrals.
- Negotiate contracts covering creator fees, content usage rights, deliverables, and timelines.
- Provide clear briefs to creators that articulate Whatnot’s brand, audience, category specifics, creative approach, and campaign objectives.
- Collaborate closely with Performance Marketers, Creative Producers, and Category Marketers to assess content effectiveness and translate feedback into stronger briefs, sourcing, and rapid iteration cycles.
- Establish and manage operational systems for creator content in the EU, including tracking pipelines, rights, payment rates, performance analytics, and repeatable workflows.
Candidate Profile
Ideal applicants are creator marketers with keen insight into internet-native short-form video content and a strong grasp of what makes creator-driven advertisements successful. The role requires the ability to discover and select the right creators, evaluate authentic content critically, and transform these insights into effective paid campaigns.
Candidates will blend roles of talent scouting, deal negotiation, and operational management and must be comfortable handling creators of varying scales, balancing volume production with influencer reach and credibility. A focus on campaign performance metrics over vanity statistics is essential, including evaluating attention capture, conversion, and ongoing campaign optimization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum three years’ experience in creator marketing, influencer marketing, UGC, or performance creative roles.
- Demonstrated experience with sourcing, signing, and managing creators comprehensively.
- Skillful briefing of creators to self-produce content emphasizing performance outcomes.
- Strong commercial awareness including managing fees, content rights, deliverables, timelines, and contract renewals.
- Excellent organization and follow-through to handle high-volume creator pipelines effectively.
- A data-driven, test-and-learn approach, comfortable with interpreting creative performance metrics to enhance campaigns.
- Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments, crafting playbooks and executing persistently.
- Fluency in English and German is mandatory.
Additional Assets
- Background as a content creator, UGC producer, community builder, or social video content maker.
- Basic video editing skills with familiarity in tools such as CapCut, InShot, or Adobe Premiere.
- Personal interest in Whatnot’s focus areas like fashion, sneakers, trading cards, sports, toys, comics, or beauty.
Work Conditions
While flexible remote work is supported, candidates should reside within commuting distance of either the London (UK) or Berlin (Germany) office hubs to facilitate in-person collaboration for planning and teamwork.
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary range between £60,000 and £90,000 annually.
- Generous paid holidays and time off.
- Comprehensive health insurance options, including medical, dental, and vision coverage.
- Support for working from home, including home office setup allowance.
- Monthly allowances for mobile phone and internet.
- Care benefits and monthly wellness allowances.
- Annual childcare support and a lifetime family planning benefit covering adoption or fertility expenses.
- International pension and retirement plans.
- Monthly budget allocated for using Whatnot’s platform as both buyer and seller to foster product understanding.
- Parental leave: 16 weeks paid leave plus one month gradual return-to-work period, observing applicable country laws.
Diversity & Inclusion
Whatnot is committed to equal employment opportunities, promoting diversity and inclusivity regardless of race, religion, color, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran or parental status, disability, or any other legally protected characteristic. We believe diverse perspectives make our workplace and products better.
