Content / Copy Editor

Role overview

This is a part-time remote position for a Content / Copy Editor supporting RAIA’s programs, initiatives, and communication efforts. The role focuses on improving written material so it is clear, consistent, and aligned with the organization’s voice and mission.

What you will do

• Review, polish, and proofread articles, website pages, social media copy, newsletters, and learning content.
• Check language quality across grammar, style, spelling, structure, and overall readability.
• Work with AI specialists, program leads, and communications colleagues to turn technical ideas into accessible content for varied audiences.
• Help uphold editorial quality standards across internal and external communications.
• Recommend ways to strengthen messaging and improve the broader content approach.
• Support the production of high-quality communication materials for different channels.

Qualifications

• Excellent command of language, with strong grammar and text-editing ability.
• Proven experience in proofreading and editorial review with a focus on accuracy and consistency.
• Ability to write clearly, engagingly, and in a style suited to the intended audience.
• High attention to detail, good organization, and the ability to handle several content pieces at once.
• Previous editing experience in nonprofit, technology, or AI-related content is an advantage.
• Comfort working remotely and collaborating with distributed teams in virtual settings.
• Familiarity with basic content management or collaborative tools such as Google Docs and project tracking platforms.
• Bachelor’s degree in Languages, Communications, Journalism, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
