Role Overview

We are seeking a Communications & Content Assistant to join our Communications Team. This role offers the chance to craft compelling stories that effectively communicate our purpose and initiatives. The ideal candidate is a creative communicator who simplifies complex information to produce engaging content, helping us build trust and connect authentically with our audiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create dynamic content for various internal and external platforms to communicate projects, elevate Southway’s presence, and engage both residents and external partners.
  • Develop video materials and briefs supporting different initiatives.
  • Manage Southway’s social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, YouTube), collaborating across departments to provide timely public responses.
  • Conduct photography and assist in organizing both internal and public events.
  • Write for tenant newsletters, leaflets, posters, intranet, employee bulletins, websites, digital communications, and support entries for awards.
  • Design and produce marketing collateral and reports, including data analysis when required.
  • Represent Southway at meetings and conferences alongside the communications team.
  • Identify and promote meaningful stories, case studies, and positive outcomes.
  • Champion innovation in communication practices to enhance effectiveness.
  • Utilize IT systems, Content Management Systems, and digital design software to maintain digital platforms.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as invoice processing, managing calendars, and maintaining content archives.
  • Support broader team and organizational goals as needed.

Terms and Benefits

This is a fixed-term contract of 18 months offering a full-time position of 35 hours per week. The salary is £29,158 annually. Working arrangements include agile/hybrid conditions with up to three days onsite at our Didsbury, Manchester office. Benefits include a competitive contributory pension scheme and an initial 25 days holiday, increasing to 30 days.
