Civil Designer

Job Overview

The role involves preparing reinforced cement concrete (RCC) drawings using computer-aided design tools like AutoCAD or manual drafting methods based on project requirements. The candidate must coordinate closely with supervisors, interpreting instructions and comprehending various technical details including RCC reinforcement data, structural and equipment layouts, vendor documentation, and architectural plans.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Create and update sketches and drawing change notes.
• Develop Bar Bending Schedules essential for project execution.
• Adhere to national and international design and construction standards.
• Perform material take off calculations from sketches, 3D models, and drawings.
• Follow established procedures and ensure smooth cooperation with engineers, modelers, and draughtsmen.
• Support reviews of structural fabrication and pre-engineered building (PEB) drawings.
• Manage and maintain comprehensive documentation including IFC drawings, reinforcement detailing, structural and fabrication documents.
• Analyze project documents to identify and address conflicts or missing information by raising technical queries.
• Detail steel connections, custom connection applications, connection and marking plans.
• Oversee delivery scheduling and system procedure documentation relating to assigned projects.
• Engage in client communications as necessary and participate in internal audits and seminars for continuous improvement.
• Provide civil-structural engineering information across proposal, engineering, and construction phases to relevant teams.
• Maintain and update civil-structural engineering drawing standards, templates, and software environments.

Candidate Profile

• Educational qualification: ITI with over 10 years relevant experience, or Diploma in Civil-Structural or Mechanical Engineering with 5 to 10 years of relevant experience.
• Excellent command of spoken and written English.
• Highly committed, accountable with strong attention to detail and 3D visualization capabilities.
