Role overview
Oxfam Ireland is hiring a part-time or full-time campaigner in Dublin to help grow support for its mission. This position is suited to someone who wants to develop practical experience in sales, customer service, and fundraising within the NGO sector, while contributing to a global movement focused on ending poverty.
Key duties
- Approach people door to door and encourage them to sign up as regular donors through direct debit gifts.
- Share information about Oxfam Ireland’s work in a way that motivates and connects with the public.
- Act as a professional representative of Oxfam Ireland at all times, following the fundraising code of conduct and internal procedures.
- Work with the team at street locations, festivals, events, and private sites across the year.
What we are looking for
- Strong communication and people skills, with the ability to engage others and speak English clearly and confidently.
- Interest in Oxfam Ireland’s mission; knowledge of emergency or development aid is helpful but not required.
- A friendly, energetic personality and willingness to interact with the public while working outdoors as part of a team.
- Prior face-to-face fundraising or sales experience is an advantage, but it is not essential because full training is available.
- Motivated, persistent, and target-driven individuals who want to begin or grow a career in the charity and NGO space.
Compensation and training
The role offers a guaranteed hourly wage of €15.42 after the initial 20 training shifts, during which the hourly rate is €13.50. In addition to the base pay, there is daily performance-related pay, creating strong earning potential. Full training is included, along with opportunities for career growth in Ireland and across Oxfam’s wider international network, including sister organisations in countries such as Australia and Mexico.
Important note
This is a fundraising and donor acquisition role, so applicants should be comfortable speaking with members of the public in person and working in outdoor environments.
