Role overview
This position is for a caregiver supporting clients in their homes with non-medical assistance that helps them stay safe, comfortable, and independent. The work centers on companionship, help with personal care, support with everyday routines, meal assistance, and light household tasks.
What you will do
- Offer friendly companionship and emotional encouragement.
- Help clients with daily living activities, including personal care and mobility support.
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding when needed.
- Keep clients safe and notify the team about any changes in condition.
- Follow infection-control practices and the client’s care plan.
- Provide transportation to appointments and other activities.
- Handle light housekeeping and laundry duties.
- Give reminders for medication as directed.
- Clock in and out and keep task records updated.
- Respond promptly and appropriately during emergencies.
- Observe, report, and document daily care activities.
Required qualifications
Applicants should have CNA or HHA certification. Previous experience in caregiving, home care, or a related role is helpful, especially if it is at least 1 year. A high school diploma or GED is preferred. A valid state certification or license in good standing is expected where applicable. Candidates must have reliable transportation, strong people skills, authorization to work in the United States, and the ability to use durable medical equipment related to the client’s needs.
Physical demands
The role requires the ability to lift, push, or pull up to 25 pounds. It also involves supporting client transfers and mobility, along with standing, bending, and kneeling for long periods.
Schedule
Hours vary based on client needs. Flexible scheduling is available, including daytime, evening, weekend, and overnight shifts.
