Job description
About the Role
We support individuals seeking to change their career path or resume work after a break, such as parental leave, by offering specialized training for vital professions that require specific expertise. During the retraining phase, you will receive an attractive salary. After successfully transitioning, you will work alongside your colleagues on equal footing.
As a Train Traffic Controller, you will operate in the signal box to manage train traffic, ensuring safe, timely, and smooth operations.
We are currently hiring career changers for the role of Train Traffic Controller (m/f/d) at DB InfraGO AG across multiple locations including Bad Liebenwerda, Gröditz, Hoyerswerda, Lauta, Lohsa, Ottendorf-Okrilla, Riesa, Röderaue, Senftenberg, Weißkeißel, Weißwasser/O.L., and Wülknitz.
Retraining Program
- The full-time retraining (39 hours per week) integrates both theoretical and practical studies.
- The theoretical classes take place at one of our regional training centers, while practical placements are arranged close to your residence when possible.
Post-Retraining Responsibilities
- You will control train traffic on small, medium, or large signal boxes through levers, push buttons, and rotary switches.
- Setting routes (train paths, switches, signals) to guarantee safe departures, for instance from stations, will be part of your duties.
- Monitoring operations within stations also falls under your responsibilities.
- You will regularly communicate and coordinate with colleagues in the signal box, train drivers, and control centers.
Candidate Profile
- You have completed a vocational training successfully, for example as a retail salesperson, restaurant specialist, bakery sales assistant, or office clerk.
- Basic computer skills are required.
- You maintain composure and stay focused under demanding situations.
- Teamwork is one of your strengths, and you are willing to take on responsibility.
- You are prepared to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, while maintaining your personal work-life balance.
Applications from already qualified train traffic controllers are also welcome.
Equal Opportunity Statement
We are committed to providing equal opportunities for all applicants with equal qualifications. We actively promote diversity and inclusivity within our teams. We welcome applications regardless of gender, nationality, ethnicity, social background, religion, worldview, disability, age, length of unemployment, sexual orientation, or identity.
Benefits
- Enjoy 16 free rides per year within Germany and further travel discounts such as the DB Job Ticket for your daily commute, plus affordable companion options for family and friends.
- We offer competitive salary packages, usually with permanent contracts and job security, supplemented by various perks and a company pension scheme.
- Personalized seminars, training, and qualifications provide you with long-term opportunities for career progression in specialist, project, or leadership roles.
Inclusion Policy
The DB Group values equal participation and respectful cooperation, especially supporting severely disabled and equally recognized applicants, who will be given preferential consideration when qualifications are equivalent.
