Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst

Role Overview

We are seeking a knowledgeable Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst to join a finance-centered team based in Englewood, Colorado on a long-term contract. This position involves maintaining the stability and accuracy of reporting processes by managing live Power BI dashboards, troubleshooting data inconsistencies, and supporting business users with client-facing reports. It is ideal for candidates who have advanced Power BI skills combined with hands-on problem-solving capabilities and a meticulous approach to verifying data quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operational and client-directed reporting deliverables, ensuring they meet deadlines, accuracy standards, and business requirements.
• Maintain and troubleshoot the live Power BI reporting environment to resolve disruptions and guarantee consistent report availability.
• Diagnose dashboard errors and data discrepancies to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Validate report outputs against source data to ensure consistency and accuracy in client-facing metrics.
• Investigate reporting issues by reviewing Power BI assets, SQL Server databases, and upstream data sources.
• Analyze existing dashboards and reports to understand the underlying calculation methods and data interrelationships.
• Collaborate directly with business stakeholders to clarify reporting needs, respond to queries, and deliver effective solutions.
• Keep reporting documentation up-to-date and promote solid data governance practices enhancing auditability and reliability.
• Partner with lead reporting developers to maintain quality standards and support continuous reporting improvements.
• Monitor data quality trends proactively to safeguard the reliability of production reports.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of three years in business intelligence, reporting analysis, or data analysis roles.
• In-depth experience developing, supporting, and diagnosing reports using Power BI.
• Proficient with DAX expressions and confident interpreting complex reporting logic.
• Strong practical experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including detailed data investigation and report behavior analysis.
• Experience working in live production reporting systems where accuracy and responsiveness are critical.
• Ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve data and reporting discrepancies.
• Excellent communication skills enabling effective support of stakeholders and clear explanation of technical findings.
• Experience in data validation and quality assurance, ideally within finance, banking, or regulated industries.
