About Rocket Lab

Role Overview
Join our innovative Avionics Production team, responsible for assembling and integrating the complex electronic systems critical to our Electron launch vehicle. This hands-on role involves precision assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and rework of avionics components, ensuring every electrical connection is flawless and mission ready. This dynamic environment requires adaptability, problem-solving aptitude, and teamwork to meet ambitious targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Precisely assemble electronic harnesses and components for launch vehicles.
- Conduct testing and troubleshooting using mechanical, electrical, and automated testing equipment.
- Perform rework as necessary to maintain high-quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with ESD policies and workmanship standards during assembly.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Trade qualification in a relevant field or demonstrable 4+ years of related industrial experience.
- Proficient in precision mechanical and electrical assembly techniques.
- Experience operating various test equipment including automated systems.
- Knowledgeable of standard electrostatic discharge (ESD) procedures.
- Excellent visual acuity for detailed inspection of PCBs and wiring assemblies.
- Capability to produce components to a high workmanship standard, including soldering and wiring harness assembly.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Competence in reading and interpreting manufacturing instructions and technical drawings.
- High personal work ethic with willingness to take on additional responsibilities and work extended hours when needed.
- Proactive, able to take initiative and maintain composure under pressure.
- Computer literacy and comfort with smartphones and tablets.
Working Conditions
This position operates on an evening shift schedule from Monday to Thursday, 15:30 to 02:00, with an applicable evening shift allowance.
