Role Summary

As an Aviation Security Officer - Systems, you will be responsible for supporting the operation, maintenance, monitoring, and continuous enhancement of aviation security technologies and systems. Your efforts will ensure the decisive safeguarding of Etihad's operations including aircraft, passengers, staff, assets, and facilities. Compliance with Etihad’s Aviation Security standards, national civil aviation security policies, and international regulations will be maintained through system administration, performance tracking, data evaluation, reporting, and the coordination of security technology activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and oversee aviation security systems and technology supporting Etihad’s operations, ensuring protection of aircraft, passengers, crew, ground operations, assets, and facilities.
• Manage the operation, availability, integration, and entire lifecycle of Aviation Security Management Systems (SeMS) to achieve reliability, resilience, and operational efficiency.
• Plan, govern, and manage system upgrades, enhancements, and technical changes aligned with operational needs, security assessments, and approved change management procedures.
• Oversee system performance monitoring and security event management, coordinating rapid responses to system alerts, malfunctions, or vulnerabilities alongside Safety Systems, Digital Technology & Innovation (DTI), and other stakeholders.
• Maintain thorough, up-to-date, and compliant system documentation, procedures, records, and evidence to support governance, audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews.
• Gather, analyze, and interpret security system data to evaluate system effectiveness, dependability, compliance, and overall operational performance.
• Detect trends, anomalies, and emerging risks related to access control, alarms, incidents, and system utilization; proactively address potential security weaknesses.
• Offer data-driven insights, risk evaluations, and strategic advice to aid decision-making, aviation security planning, and enterprise risk management.
• Identify and implement improvements to aviation security systems, analytics, and reporting through technology upgrades, automation, and industry best practices adoption.
• Support the assessment, piloting, and introduction of new aviation security technologies in line with Etihad’s operational requirements, digital strategies, and evolving threat landscapes.
• Participate in preparing and delivering training, knowledge sharing, and awareness programs related to aviation security systems and data-centric security management.

Qualifications and Experience

• University degree preferably in Aviation, Security Management, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least five years of experience in an operational setting, ideally within aviation security or related security systems environments.
