Position Overview

James Madison University, a Division I NCAA and Sun Belt Conference member, is seeking a full-time Athletics Facilities Coordinator to oversee Bridgeforth Stadium and other athletic venues. Reporting to the Director of Facilities and collaborating with the Associate Athletic Director of Facilities and Events, this role serves as the primary liaison for venue operations, maintenance, and event support.

General Responsibilities

  • Act as the building coordinator providing oversight and supervision of assigned athletic facilities.
  • Serve as the main contact for athletic and support personnel regarding facility needs and concerns.
  • Communicate maintenance issues, event impacts, and improvement timelines effectively to staff.
  • Manage scheduling of facility lighting, oversee opening/closing procedures, handle equipment inventory, and maintain facility aesthetics and safety standards.
  • Prepare athletic facilities for daily use, including painting lines, setting up rooms, configuring game equipment, and managing sound and seating arrangements.
  • Initiate and report routine and emergency repairs through work order systems.
  • Supervise improvement projects within assigned venues.
  • Support varsity game day operations and special events, coordinating pre-event setups, event execution, and post-event breakdowns while directing student worker assignments.
  • Provide training and supervision to student employees.
  • Ensure adherence to university safety protocols.
  • Assist other athletic facilities with event support as needed.
  • Oversee maintenance and compliance of hot/cold tubs within facilities.
