Job Summary
The Associate Director of Undergraduate Admissions oversees the effective operation, training, and supervision of the undergraduate admissions recruitment, selection, and yield processes. This role requires close coordination with leadership to implement enrollment strategies and manage resources aimed at meeting performance goals. Leadership in business plan execution, expense control, and other managerial duties are key to this position.
The Associate Director communicates Drexel University's philosophy and values to prospective students, while displaying comprehensive knowledge of academic programs. Responsibilities include mentoring team members, executing strategic plans, managing expenses, and guiding the team toward achieving both quantitative and qualitative institutional objectives with professionalism, ethical compliance, accuracy, and enthusiasm for higher education. Moderate travel is required (up to 5 weeks in the Fall and 2-3 weeks in the Spring), alongside scheduled evening and weekend work.
This hybrid role involves working onsite regularly during the week.
Essential Functions
- Lead and coordinate student enrollment initiatives.
- Ensure alignment of objectives, planning, budgets, policies, and practices with University guidelines.
- Contribute to development and execution of short- and long-term recruitment strategies and oversee implementation of approved programs.
- Manage hiring quality, compensation, and performance reviews.
- Recruit, interview, and onboard new staff members.
- Delegate tasks and supervise team responsibilities.
- Oversee planning, work direction, performance appraisal, rewards, disciplinary actions, complaint resolution, and problem-solving for subordinates.
- Uphold Drexel University values in all job duties.
- Maintain deep knowledge of academic offerings to effectively match prospective students to appropriate programs.
- Collaborate with campus units to manage communications and marketing for undergraduate admissions.
- Comply with all laws and regulations related to student recruitment.
- Assist in creating and updating the admissions operations manual.
- Generate and analyze weekly reports assessing progress and staff performance metrics.
- Perform additional assignments as necessary.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and work experience.
- At least 5 years of admissions experience.
- Strong customer service and project management skills.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines with meticulous attention to detail.
- Knowledge of higher education systems.
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, verbal, and written communication abilities.
- Effective problem-solving and process enhancement capabilities.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.

Additional Information
This exempt position is classified as grade K, with a salary range between $60,240 and $90,350 annually.
