Role Overview

The Assistant Manager/Manager position focuses on enhancing the growth trajectories of startups within SUSS Entrepreneurship's venture-building ecosystem. The role entails facilitating market access, overseeing grant and funding mechanisms, and co-leading incubation efforts aimed at helping startups transition from incubation to market expansion and scaling. This position operates at the nexus of venture acceleration, industry collaboration, and public financing, assisting founders in navigating growth strategies, fostering partnerships, and mobilising resources.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute market access programmes to link startups with customers, corporates, and deployment partners both locally and regionally.
• Foster cross-border partnerships and growth opportunities, especially within ASEAN and other significant markets, by engaging corporates and industry stakeholders.
• Maintain and cultivate relationships with funding organisations, corporates, mentors, investors, and internal teams.
• Support the delivery of Venture Builder Programmes, including startup onboarding, milestone monitoring, evaluation, and progression management.
• Lead comprehensive grant administration for startups, ensuring compliance, reporting, and coordination with funding bodies.
• Provide startups with grant strategy guidance, from application through to post-award management, aligning grant conditions with programme goals and university policies.
• Contribute to ecosystem strategy formulation, partnership development, departmental planning, funding proposals, and institutional reporting.
• Monitor and report venture creation outcomes, participation metrics, and ecosystem engagement to stakeholders and external funders.
• Identify and engage potential funding partners to support entrepreneurship initiatives.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree holder; experience in startup or social enterprise ecosystems is advantageous.
• 5 to 10 years of professional experience in venture building, startup acceleration, grant management, or managing industry partnerships.
• In-depth knowledge of startup growth stages, funding strategies, and market entry tactics.
• Experience managing public funding, grants, or institutional programmes.
• Strong analytical abilities, effective stakeholder management, and excellent programme execution skills.
