Role Overview
The Assistant Manager for AHP Mechanical Commissioning is tasked with executing the full scope of commissioning activities for Air Heater Plant (AHP) mechanical equipment to prepare the plant for commercial operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate comprehensive commissioning plans and schedules in collaboration with project teams, ensuring synchronization with project timelines and quality requirements.
- Oversee mechanical commissioning tasks including installation verification, alignment checks, flushing, lubrication, and testing of pumps, valves, heat exchangers, piping, and auxiliary systems.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts during commissioning to resolve mechanical faults efficiently, reducing downtime and sustaining operational dependability.
- Coordinate with design, quality, procurement, and operations departments to affirm adherence to engineering specs, safety norms, and regulatory standards.
- Perform root cause analyses and apply corrective measures for mechanical issues encountered during commissioning phases.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation such as commissioning procedures, inspection reports, test logs, and punch lists to guarantee accuracy and traceability.
- Enforce strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental protocols throughout commissioning activities to ensure a secure workplace.
- Provide mentorship and technical support to junior engineers and commissioning technicians to promote skill enhancement and knowledge transfer.
- Engage with vendors and contractors for technical clarity, inspection approvals, and to verify conformity of equipment to contractual and technical criteria.
- Assist the transition from commissioning to operations by managing equipment handover, performance validation testing, and supporting the development of operation and maintenance manuals.
- Champion continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to optimize commissioning procedures, shorten cycle times, and boost project efficiency.

Qualification & Experience
- At least 7 years of professional experience in mechanical commissioning within the Power or Energy sector, ideally with practical knowledge of AHP systems or similar auxiliary plant equipment.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a significantly related field awarded by a recognized university or institute.
