Role Objectives

The primary aim of the Site Safety Engineer is to establish and strengthen a culture of safety and to advance the Safety Management System (SMS) in solar manufacturing projects. This position involves carrying out comprehensive EHS inspections and audits, recognizing environmental aspects and their impacts, and ensuring adherence to all statutory, regulatory, and internal safety standards. The role is instrumental in proactively managing safety initiatives to ensure a safe, compliant, and continuously improving workplace.

Key Responsibilities

• Champion the development of a robust safety culture for all employees and contractors at the solar manufacturing facility.
• Advance and refine the Safety Management System to effectively identify, evaluate, and mitigate safety risks within project operations.
• Execute regular environmental, health, and safety inspections and audits to validate compliance with corporate policies and legal mandates.
• Identify and assess environmental aspects associated with project activities; formulate measures to minimize ecological impacts and enhance sustainability practices.
• Ensure full compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental laws, standards, and internal guidelines.
• Lead prompt and thorough investigations of safety incidents and near misses, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
• Design and conduct training sessions on safety protocols, hazard recognition, emergency responses, and environmental protection strategies.
• Drive ongoing improvements in safety outcomes by implementing best practices and leveraging insights gained from incident analyses and audits.

Stakeholder Interaction

Internal engagements include close collaboration with project managers, operations managers, and safety committee members. Externally, the role involves coordination with contractors, subcontractors, regulatory bodies, and community representatives.

Qualifications and Experience

• A bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 2 to 5 years’ experience in construction or industrial safety management.
