Role Overview
Race Communications is hiring a remote Assistant Customer Support Manager to support day-to-day customer support operations and help raise service quality across the team. This position works closely with the Customer Support Manager to keep service delivery consistent, guide support staff, and resolve more complex customer issues with a retention-first approach.
The company is a fiber internet provider serving California communities since 1994, with a team culture built around collaboration, integrity, and people-first service.
Work Arrangement
This is a remote position. Work is expected to be done mainly from a home office five days per week. The employee may need to use a personal phone and internet connection for telecommuting, with reimbursement handled under the company’s telecommuting policy. Occasional travel to other company offices or off-site locations may also be required.
Remote candidates must live in one of these states: California, Colorado, Florida, Missouri, Nevada, Oregon, Indiana, or Illinois. Applicants outside these states are not eligible for remote employment.
Compensation and Schedule
Pay is listed at $26 to $30 per hour. The schedule is 5 days per week, 8 hours per day.

What You’ll Do
This role supports the customer support function by coaching team members, managing escalations, improving workflows, and helping maintain service standards. It also contributes to retention efforts by identifying at-risk customers, strengthening relationships, and supporting timely issue resolution.
Qualifications
Candidates must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship and be at least 18 years old. A high school diploma or GED is required. A bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
The ideal background includes 3 to 5 years of customer support experience in telecommunications, along with some leadership or supervisory exposure in a support setting. The role also calls for strong knowledge of customer service processes, technical troubleshooting, CRM tools, and the ability to handle a busy technical environment with multiple priorities.
English fluency is required for speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension. Spanish language ability is a plus.
Additional Skills and Tools
Experience with Microsoft Office tools such as Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, along with teleconferencing software, is expected. Comfort using office equipment, computers, and standard business software is also needed.
Other Requirements
The position may require working nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime to support business continuity and urgent operational needs. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
