Position Overview
Join the dynamic Art Department at Barton Peveril College as a Product Design Studio Assistant. This outstanding opportunity supports the A Level Product Design course, within a department offering diverse specializations including Fine Art, Graphics, Textiles, Photography, Moving Image, and the Level 4 Foundation Art Diploma.
Key Responsibilities and Environment
The role demands a self-driven individual with experience in art, design, or engineering disciplines to assist in a lively studio setting. Your primary focus will be supervising and aiding classes in the Product Design Workshop, which is equipped with tools like routers, band saws, 3D printers, and laser cutters. Ensuring safe use of machinery and adherence to health and safety standards is crucial.
Skills and Requirements
Applicants must possess a solid practical understanding of health and safety, technical confidence with workshop equipment, and experience in exhibiting artwork. Competence in working with both two-dimensional and three-dimensional materials is required. Proficient IT skills combined with strong verbal and written communication abilities are essential to thrive in this role.
