Role Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Apprenticeship Manager to spearhead the design, execution, and ongoing enhancement of apprenticeship programs within our organization. This key leadership role involves managing apprentice recruitment, defining learning pathways, nurturing stakeholder partnerships, ensuring compliance, and overseeing apprentice performance to prepare individuals for lasting career success.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive apprenticeship strategies, policies, governance frameworks in alignment with organizational workforce planning and talent development goals.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of apprenticeship programs, including workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, training coordination, mentoring, performance monitoring, certification processes, and successful program completion.
- Collaborate with HR, learning and development, operations, department heads, academic institutions, government agencies, and executive leadership to deliver impactful apprenticeship initiatives.
- Establish and maintain partnerships with universities, vocational schools, technical colleges, industry associations, accreditation bodies, and government entities to expand apprenticeship opportunities and workforce growth.
- Track key performance indicators such as recruitment success, retention, completion rates, certification achievements, performance metrics, post-program employment outcomes, managerial satisfaction, and overall program effectiveness.
- Design structured learning pathways, competency models, training timelines, career advancement plans, and mentoring schemes that foster apprentice development aligned with organizational needs.
- Ensure full regulatory compliance with labor legislation, educational standards, funding guidelines, organizational policies, health and safety regulations, and government directives.
- Manage apprentice rotations, workplace learning experiences, skill evaluations, progress assessments, coaching sessions, and performance reviews in partnership with department managers and mentors.
- Promote apprenticeship initiatives through employer branding, recruitment campaigns, career fairs, educational outreach, and community engagement to attract a diverse talent pool.
- Leverage HRIS, LMS, ATS, Microsoft Office, Power BI, workforce analytics, and reporting tools to monitor program performance and generate actionable insights.
- Prepare detailed reports, dashboards, compliance documentation, executive presentations, and strategic recommendations for senior leadership review.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team comprising apprenticeship coordinators, learning specialists, program administrators, and mentors, fostering a culture of continuous learning, inclusion, collaboration, and improvement.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Education, Business Administration, Organizational Development, Learning & Development, Workforce Development, or related fields preferred.
- Master's degree or professional credentials in HR, Learning & Development, Coaching, Talent Management, Project Management, or similar disciplines are advantageous.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in apprenticeship management, workforce development, L&D, talent management, education, or associated roles.
- At least 2 years managing apprenticeship, graduate development, vocational education, or workforce training programs preferred.
- Deep understanding of apprenticeship frameworks, workforce development practices, adult learning principles, competency-based training, mentorship, and performance management.
- Familiar with HRIS, LMS, ATS platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI, workforce analytics tools, and digital learning technologies.
- Knowledgeable about skills development schemes, vocational education systems, government-sponsored training, succession planning, and organizational capability enhancement is a plus.
- Strong leadership, organizational, coaching, project management, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communicative, stakeholder engagement, presentation, facilitation, mentoring, and collaboration skills across functions.
- Ability to develop programs aligning workforce capabilities, employee growth, business objectives, and sustainable organizational success.
- Capacity to work independently in remote or hybrid conditions with occasional travel to educational and business sites as required.
