Application Packaging Specialist

About the Role

This position involves specialized work in application packaging, focusing on technologies such as MSI, App-V, and MSIX with an emphasis on high-quality software deployment practices across enterprise environments. It is suited for professionals with 4 to 6 years of relevant expertise and offers opportunities to work in locations including Chennai, Bangalore, and Hyderabad.

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop and manage application packages using MSI, App-V, and MSIX formats.
• Conduct Package Quality Assurance (PQA), ensuring compliance with company and industry standards.
• Utilize deployment tools such as SCCM, Intune, and AdminStudio to facilitate software distribution.
• Perform comprehensive testing including functional, regression, and user acceptance validations to guarantee software reliability.
• Validate installation processes including upgrades, patching, rollbacks, and uninstallation procedures.
• Log and monitor defects using bug tracking systems like Azure DevOps (ADO).
• Analyze application compatibility and dependencies to maintain seamless integration.

Required Skills and Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with application packaging techniques, specifically MSI, App-V, and MSIX.
• Proficient in using deployment platforms such as SCCM, Intune, and AdminStudio.
• Experience in conducting thorough package quality assurance and validation tests.
• Knowledgeable about software lifecycle processes including installation, upgrade, patch, rollback, and uninstall validations.
• Familiarity with defect management tools, particularly ADO.
• Understanding of application compatibility issues and dependency mapping.
• 4 to 6 years of practical experience in similar roles.
