Job Summary
The Anesthesia Technician supports anesthesiologists by preparing patients and assisting in anesthesia delivery, including sedation, monitoring, and recovery. The role involves maintaining anesthesia equipment and managing supplies in compliance with DOH/DHA and organizational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow all company policies, professional standards, and confidentiality requirements.
- Contribute to ongoing quality improvement efforts and operational risk identification.
- Assist anesthesiologists in patient assessment, sedation procedures, anesthesia induction and monitoring, recovery phases, and emergency responses.
- Prepare, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot anesthesia machinery before, during, and after medical procedures.
- Handle anesthesia medications and supplies including sterilization, stock management, ordering, and expiration monitoring.
- Keep equipment inventories current, coordinate necessary repairs and quality inspections, ensuring safety before reuse.
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care encouraging trust, teamwork, and individualized communication with patients and families.
- Liaise effectively with multidisciplinary teams ensuring adherence to safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Diploma or certificate in Anesthesia Technology from an accredited institution with at least a two-year program.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in anesthesia support services, with five years preferred.
- Possession of a valid DOH/DHA license or eligibility, along with current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Comprehensive understanding of anesthesia protocols, equipment, standards, and regulations.
- Strong communication capabilities within diverse, multicultural healthcare teams.
- Arabic language skills are beneficial but not mandatory.
