About The Team
The Restaurant Acquisition unit is integral to DoorDash's expansion efforts throughout Australia. This team identifies, engages, and secures partnerships with new small-to-medium restaurant businesses, enhancing the local dining options available on the platform and enriching customer choice in each served market.
Role Overview
As an Account Executive, you will spearhead the recruitment of new SMB restaurant partners, managing the entire sales cycle from initial outreach through pitching, negotiating, and contract signing. You will build and maintain a robust pipeline of promising merchants that drive growth in the marketplace.
This position requires close cooperation across departments including Marketing, Operations, Customer Success, and Strategy to utilize market data and competitive knowledge to capture top prospects in your region.
Note: This role is field-intensive, involving travel within and between regions, which may include overnight and extended stays. Candidates must possess a valid full driver’s license and be amenable to traveling as dictated by business priorities and regional demands.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and secure new restaurant partners ranging from well-loved local establishments to emerging venues.
- Manage your designated territory by designing and executing strategic acquisition plans targeting high-potential leads and addressing market selection needs.
- Utilize analytical insights and competitive intelligence to craft persuasive sales pitches and optimize outreach efforts.
- Handle objections skillfully, design mutually beneficial proposals, navigate competitive challenges, and close deals ensuring partner success.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Operations, and Post-Sales teams to guarantee efficient onboarding and expedite the first order process for new partners.
- Stay informed on local market trends, competitor activities, and merchant feedback to continually refine strategies and contribute insights at a broader business level.
- Support team growth by sharing effective sales approaches and successful pipeline management practices.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in B2B sales, business development, or new client acquisition.
- Demonstrated success in achieving or surpassing sales goals and securing new business.
- Excellent prospecting ability and pipeline oversight with a proactive, hunter mindset.
- Strong commercial judgment with skills in developing compelling value propositions and negotiating deals.
- Effective communication skills, persuasive across phone, email, and in-person interactions.
- Comfortable operating in fast-paced, evolving environments; competitive, flexible, and solution-oriented.
- A collaborative team player dedicated to collective success.
- Holder of a valid full driver’s licence.
