Account Executive

Role Overview

The Account Executive will oversee comprehensive accounting activities within the organization, ensuring the integrity and punctuality of financial operations. Established in 2010 in Kolkata, THE Instinct is a prominent consultancy firm seeking a skilled professional to contribute to its financial management.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting transactions systematically
• Develop and monitor budget forecasts to guide financial planning
• Timely preparation and publication of financial statements
• Manage closing processes monthly, quarterly, and annually
• Reconcile accounts payable and receivable accurately
• Ensure punctual processing of payments through bank channels
• Calculate applicable taxes and prepare corresponding tax returns
• Maintain and manage balance sheets and profit & loss accounts
• Generate detailed reports reflecting the firm's financial status and liquidity
• Audit financial transactions alongside relevant documentation
• Guard confidentiality of financial data and perform database backups as needed
• Adhere strictly to financial policies and compliance standards

Required Qualifications & Expertise

• Proven experience working in accounting roles
• Comprehensive understanding of accounting standards and regulations, including GAAP
• Practical experience with accounting software such as FreshBooks and QuickBooks
• Advanced capabilities in Microsoft Excel, including proficiency with Vlookup and pivot tables
• Familiarity with general ledger operations
• Meticulous attention to detail with strong analytical aptitude
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline (B.Com in Commerce eligible)
• Additional certifications like CPA or CMA would be advantageous
