Technician, I-C (Maintenance Section)

Job Overview

The Technician in Instrumentation and Control (I-C) Maintenance is responsible for performing preventive, corrective, and troubleshooting maintenance along with testing of all plant instrumentation process monitoring, control, and protective equipment following established procedures and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute routine and preventive maintenance tasks, as well as repair and testing of instrumentation equipment, adhering to Standard Operating Procedures and relevant standards to fulfill work order requirements.
• Participate and perform preventive maintenance during scheduled plant shutdowns, ensuring timely completion of all job-related activities.
• Verify and document completed maintenance work to confirm adherence to required standards and update maintenance activity sheets accordingly.
• Conduct inspections and maintain vigilance to detect any emerging issues within assigned areas, reporting problems promptly.
• Troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and test diverse process control instruments and relay logic to maintain the instrumentation systems as per design specifications.
• Perform preventive and emergency maintenance on-site equipment during normal operations and scheduled or unscheduled shutdowns, ensuring equipment reliability and minimizing unexpected trips.
• Implement field or system modifications of control elements or control loops based on plant change requests and assist in updating plant drawings to document such changes per change management procedures.
• Support the upgrading and retrofitting of new control instruments to existing field and control room panels to complete modifications and Plant Change Requests in compliance with established standards.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possession of a Technical Diploma or Secondary School Certificate supplemented with a vocational trade certificate relevant to the field.
• A minimum of four years of experience working within an oil and gas plant environment.
