About the Role
Our client, a reputable packaging solutions manufacturer with a major production site in County Mayo, is seeking a Production Team Leader. Industry-specific experience is not mandatory as comprehensive training will be provided.
Key Duties
- Lead and oversee a team of production operators to consistently meet productivity, efficiency, and quality standards.
- Plan and allocate daily workloads and production schedules to meet delivery targets, proactively identifying any potential risks.
- Conduct daily production floor rounds to assess machine performance and promptly address operational issues.
- Clearly communicate production goals, expectations, and responsibilities to all team members.
- Provide daily reports on shift output, production challenges, and job progress during management meetings.
- Implement ongoing improvements and best practices to uphold operational excellence and maintain competitiveness.
- Facilitate team and individual growth through coaching, identifying training needs, and conducting performance assessments.
- Enforce shift discipline and effectively manage breaks, both planned and unplanned.
- Ensure smooth shift handovers by resolving or escalating outstanding issues.
- Oversee machine maintenance schedules and report necessary corrective or preventive maintenance requirements.
- Promote 5S methodology and maintain high housekeeping standards across the production floor.
- Take charge of health and safety initiatives including reporting, near-miss investigations, risk assessments, and emergency responses.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in a supervisory or team leader position within a production or manufacturing setting.
- Familiarity with quality and compliance frameworks such as ISO or GMP.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with a proven ability to develop and mentor teams.
- Ability to meet production KPIs and adhere to daily reporting procedures.
- Willingness and flexibility to work various shift schedules.
Additional Information
Location: County Mayo, Ireland
Work Hours: 39 hours per week
Salary: Up to 50,000 per annum, depending on experience
Benefits: 5% pension contribution
