Role Overview

Serving as a Stockperson/Cartpusher, you are integral to delivering a safe, orderly, and inviting shopping atmosphere for customers. This position entails gathering shopping carts from various store locations like cart corrals, parking lots, and store edges and returning them to assigned storage zones using Walmart-approved methods. Friendly customer engagement paired with a strong safety focus facilitates seamless store functioning while enhancing skills in retail operations, collaboration, and client service.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collect and return shopping carts from cart corrals, parking areas, and store perimeter to designated spots adhering to approved procedures, ensuring proper documentation is maintained.
  • Promptly address customer and in-store requests, lend assistance with carrying out or bringing in goods, and verify purchase receipts when asked.
  • Conduct occasional cleaning and maintenance activities such as restroom upkeep, following protocols for safe chemical use, waste disposal, and power equipment operation, including mandatory equipment checks before use.
  • Comply with all safety protocols, including emergency procedures, hazardous material communication, lockout/tagout methods, and bloodborne pathogen precautions to uphold a secure setting for both customers and employees.
  • Utilize personal protective gear like steel-toe shoes and reflective vests, perform safety inspections as required, and adhere to company guidelines to preserve a hazard-free workspace.
  • Maintain flexible work availability, including shifts during evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet operational demands.

Challenges in the Role

  • Manage a high volume of tasks efficiently in a fast-moving environment, including overnight shifts, by planning to stay alert and focused.
  • Execute large-scale restocking and recovery duties timely and accurately.
  • Endure physical demands such as prolonged standing, bending, and lifting items typically up to 20 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds with repetitive focus on stocking, organizing, and zoning products.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this position is $18.40.
