Position Overview

As a Stockperson / Cartpusher, you play a key role in ensuring a safe, orderly, and welcoming environment that enhances the shopping experience. Your main duty is to retrieve shopping carts from designated cart corrals, the parking lot, and around the store exterior, returning them to their allocated storage spots following approved company procedures. Through engaging positively with customers and maintaining a strong focus on safety, you support seamless store operations while developing skills in retail, teamwork, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather shopping carts from corrals, parking areas, and store surroundings, securing them safely to assigned storage locations using Walmart-approved methods, ensuring accurate completion of related logs.
• Provide prompt assistance to customer service registers and store personnel, including support with carrying purchases and verifying sales receipts when necessary.
• Conduct routine cleaning and maintenance tasks such as restroom upkeep, complying with proper handling of chemicals, disposal, and safe equipment use, completing pre-use inspections for equipment.
• Follow safety protocols and emergency procedures, including hazardous communication, lockout/tagout, and bloodborne pathogen measures, to sustain a secure environment for customers and coworkers.
• Consistently wear required personal protective equipment like steel-toe footwear and reflective vests, perform safety sweeps, and uphold company safety policies to ensure a hazard-free workplace.
• Maintain flexible availability to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays, supporting smooth business operations and consistent customer service.

Challenges Inherent to the Role

• Handle high volumes of tasks efficiently in a fast-moving environment, particularly overnight shifts, by planning to remain alert and productive.
• Perform physically demanding activities including extended standing, frequent bending, and lifting goods or equipment weighing up to 20 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
• Execute repetitive activities like stocking, zoning, and organizing products with diligence and consistent attention to detail to meet store standards.

Remuneration: This role starts at a minimum hourly wage of 18.40 CAD.

Minimum Requirements

Candidates must be at least 16 years old to qualify for this position.
