Position Overview

As a Stockperson / Cartpusher, you contribute significantly to creating a safe, orderly, and inviting shopping atmosphere for customers. Your duties include gathering shopping carts from cart corrals, parking lots, and store perimeter areas and returning them safely to designated storage locations while following approved procedures. In addition, your friendly interactions with customers and dedication to safety foster smooth store operations and help you develop valuable skills in retail, teamwork, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect shopping carts from various store areas and return them properly using Walmart's approved methods, completing necessary logs accurately.
• Respond quickly to requests from registers and Customer Service, including helping customers carry merchandise in and out and verifying receipts when needed.
• Occasionally perform cleaning and maintenance tasks, such as restroom upkeep, adhering to guidelines for chemical use, waste disposal, and power equipment safety, including completing equipment inspections before use.
• Comply with all safety and emergency protocols, including hazardous communication, lockout/tagout, and bloodborne pathogen procedures, to ensure a secure environment for customers and staff.
• Wear required personal protective equipment like steel-toe shoes and reflective vests, conduct safety sweeps as necessary, and follow company policies to promote a hazard-free workplace.
• Be flexible with your schedule, available to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays, which supports consistent store operation and quality customer service.

Challenges to Anticipate

• Manage high volume tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting, including handling overnight shifts and maintaining energy and focus throughout.
• Physically demanding duties such as standing for long periods, bending, lifting items weighing up to 20 lbs and sometimes up to 50 lbs, and performing repetitive stocking and organizing tasks with precision.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this role is $17.75.
