Position Summary

As a Stockperson / Cartpusher, you are vital in ensuring a safe, orderly, and inviting shopping environment for customers. Your primary duties involve retrieving shopping carts from multiple areas such as cart corrals, parking lots, and store perimeters, and returning them to their designated storage locations by following approved procedures. This role also emphasizes interacting positively with customers while focusing on safety to support smooth store operations and develop retail, teamwork, and customer service abilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Retrieve shopping carts from designated areas including cart corrals, parking lots, and store perimeter, and return them safely to assigned storage spots using company-approved methods, ensuring completion of required logs accurately.
• Respond swiftly to requests from all cash registers and Customer Service, assisting customers with carrying in and out of purchases, and verifying receipts when necessary.
• Carry out cleaning and maintenance tasks, such as restroom upkeep, adhering to safety guidelines for chemical handling, proper waste disposal, and safe operation of power tools. Perform required equipment inspections before usage.
• Comply with all safety and emergency protocols, including hazardous communication, lockout/tagout, and bloodborne pathogen procedures to maintain a secure environment for both customers and team members.
• Wear mandated personal protective gear, including steel toe shoes and reflective vests, conduct safety sweeps as needed, and follow company policies aimed at maintaining a clean and safe workplace.
• Be flexible with work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet business needs and ensure consistent, high-quality customer service.

Challenges of the Role

• Manage a high volume of tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment, with an emphasis on overnight shifts that require maintaining focus and energy.
• Handle physically demanding activities such as prolonged standing, bending, and lifting items weighing up to 20 lbs regularly, and occasionally items up to 50 lbs.
• Perform repetitive tasks including stocking, zoning, and organizing products, ensuring attention to detail and consistency with store standards.

Compensation

The starting hourly pay for this position is $18.40 CAD.

Minimum Qualifications
