Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the creation of detailed environmental assessments and planning approval submissions for multidisciplinary projects.
- Manage routine projects, collaborating closely with stakeholders to ensure exceptional client service and timely delivery.
- Contribute to a national team of planners by learning from experienced Technical Directors and mentoring junior planners to achieve high-quality outcomes.
- Take charge of proposal development and pursue business growth by engaging with clients.
- Enhance your professional development through mentoring, training, and active participation in professional bodies and the organization's global technical communities.
- Participate fully in an inclusive work culture that values collaboration and offers flexibility for work-life balance.
- Optionally utilize or develop skills in community and stakeholder engagement by planning and executing consultation strategies.
Candidate Profile
- A Bachelor’s degree with at least eight years of environmental planning experience.
- Full membership or progression towards membership of the New Zealand Planning Institute (NZPI).
- Track record of technical planning roles within regional councils, local councils, or private sector environments, particularly related to infrastructure consenting.
- Proven project management capabilities including financial oversight, budgeting, and scheduling.
- Experience managing clients and developing business opportunities.
- Community and stakeholder engagement experience preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proactive, decisive, and adept at problem solving.
- Analytical, self-driven, and energetic approach to work.
- Demonstrates teamwork enthusiasm, thinking creatively across disciplines to deliver integrated project outcomes.
