Senior Manager - Operational Risk

Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Manager specializing in Operational Risk to lead a critical BCBS 239 / RDARR implementation initiative. This role will oversee the Second Line of Defence validation activities, ensuring independent review, challenge, and assurance to meet stringent regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive the comprehensive execution of the 2LoD validation plan in line with BCBS 239 principles.
• Coordinate independent validations involving data governance, data quality, data lineage, control frameworks, and risk reporting aspects.
• Offer constructive challenge and supervision of First Line of Defence programme implementations.
• Engage and manage relationships with stakeholders from Risk, Data, Technology departments, and senior governance committees.
• Monitor validation results, identify findings and challenges, and oversee remediation efforts.
• Support regulatory interactions, supervisory evaluations, and internal audit processes.
• Prepare high-standard reports, governance documentation, and ensure audit readiness.

Required Experience and Qualifications

• Extensive background in Operational Risk, Risk Assurance, Internal Audit, Regulatory Compliance, or closely related sectors.
• Thorough knowledge of BCBS 239 and RDARR regulatory frameworks.
• Experience dealing with data governance, data quality assurance, control environments, risk reporting, or regulatory change projects.
• Demonstrated capability to collaborate with senior stakeholders and participate in governance forums.
• Strong skills in project management, reporting, and documentation preparation.
• Experience within a Second Line of Defence operational setting is advantageous.
