Role and Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and delivery of defence products meeting established standards, customer requirements, and specifications.
• Translate client and system demands into comprehensive product specifications and engineering design solutions.
• Conduct engineering analyses including calculations, simulations, and evaluations to verify product performance, reliability, and compliance.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, testing, procurement, and supply chain teams throughout product development phases.
• Facilitate prototype creation, conduct engineering trials, testing, validation, and ensure product qualification.
• Prepare and update all essential technical documentation such as design specifications, engineering drawings, BOMs, test procedures, qualification reports, and compliance certificates.
• Participate actively in design reviews, technical forums, failure investigations, and manage engineering change processes.
• Work with manufacturing teams to troubleshoot design and production issues, enabling smooth transition to mass production.
• Support qualification tasks including environmental, functional, reliability, and performance testing specific to products.
• Analyze data from tests and field operations, identify issues, and implement corrective design improvements.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant defense standards, quality benchmarks, and client-specific requirements throughout product development.
• Engage with key defence customers like DRDO, Defence PSUs, and OEMs to comprehend technical needs, solve queries, and communicate project progress.
• Attend client meetings, technical reviews, product demonstrations, inspections, and acceptance evaluations.
• Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to address technical requirements, develop components, and resolve engineering challenges.
• Assist in drafting technical proposals, compliance matrices, statements of work, and reply to technical queries from customers.
• Drive continuous enhancements to product performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost efficiency.
• Maintain rigorous configuration control and ensure timely delivery of engineering milestones and documentation.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Degree holder in Electronics, Electrical, Aerospace, or related engineering fields at Bachelor or Master level.
• Practical experience in product design, development, testing, qualification, or engineering in defence, aerospace, automotive, or other high-reliability sectors.
• Strong grasp of defence standards, engineering practices, quality controls, and qualification protocols.
• Proficient in engineering drawings, GD&T, BOMs, design calculations, technical specifications, and documentation.
• Familiarity with the entire product development lifecycle from concept to production.
• Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including engineering, manufacturing, quality, and testing.
• Ability to perform root cause analysis and implement effective engineering resolutions.
• Knowledge of CAD/CAE tools and applicable engineering software preferred.
• Exceptional technical documentation, analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
• Capability to interpret and translate customer requirements into viable engineering designs.
• Prior experience in dealing with defence customers such as DRDO, Defence PSUs, OEMs, or government agencies is a plus.
• Willing to engage actively in customer discussions, technical evaluations, testing, and field trials.
• Independent worker and strong contributor to cross-functional team efforts.
• Dedicated to maintaining quality, reliability, confidentiality, and meeting project timelines rigorously.
• Experience specifically in defence product development and qualification will be advantageous.
