About the Role
We are urgently hiring a Senior DevOps Engineer for a Bangalore-based opportunity with a reputed multinational corporation. This full-time position focuses on leading the infrastructure and deployment for a next-generation data and artificial intelligence platform. The engineer will develop resilient, scalable systems across on-premise and hybrid cloud setups to support microservices, real-time streaming data, and batch processing workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain hybrid and on-premises environments for compute and storage workloads.
- Deploy and manage containerized microservices on Kubernetes across on-premise and cloud infrastructures.
- Automate infrastructure setup and provisioning utilizing Terraform, Ansible, Helm, or similar tools.
- Configure, scale, and administer distributed data platforms including Kafka clusters, Apache Spark, and data lakes or warehouses.
- Engineer systems for elastic scaling, load balancing, and resource isolation of data services and APIs.
- Ensure security by managing VPNs, firewalls, identity systems, access controls, audit trails, and implementing encryption mechanisms across services and storages.
- Handle secure management of secrets across various environments.
- Implement observability solutions using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, and OpenTelemetry for real-time monitoring.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to deploy services, data jobs, and configurations to hybrid infrastructure supporting zero-downtime deployments and rollbacks.
- Support Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices including incident response, post-incident analyses, and runbook maintenance.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering roles.
- Strong command of Kubernetes deployments both on-premises and in hybrid cloud environments.
- Expertise in infrastructure automation with Terraform, Ansible, and Helm.
- Proficiency with supporting real-time data platforms and microservices orchestration.
- Deep understanding of networking, storage architectures, firewalls, and hybrid cloud security.
- Scripting and programming skills in Bash, Python, and/or Go.
- Familiarity with DevOps best practices, observability frameworks, and system reliability techniques.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with data lake and warehouse technologies such as HDFS, S3-compatible storage, Redshift, or Snowflake.
- Knowledge of event-driven design, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data mesh methodologies.
- Exposure to machine learning operations (MLOps) or data science workflow automation.
- Relevant certifications in Kubernetes, cloud platforms, or security domains are advantageous.
