Job Overview
The Room Divisions Manager supports the operational management of various room-related departments, including Front Office, Engineering/Maintenance, and Housekeeping. This role is focused on enhancing guest and employee satisfaction while ensuring strong financial results for the department. Monitoring adherence to corporate standards and procedures is a critical part of the position, alongside leading a specific team to help meet or surpass property objectives.
Candidate Profile
Education and Experience: Candidates should have either a high school diploma or GED paired with at least four years of relevant experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or related areas; or possess a two-year degree from an accredited institution in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field along with two years of similar professional experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide the room operations team by translating organizational goals into actionable objectives focused on guest tracking and productivity.
- Create a supportive property environment encouraging motivation, empowerment, collaboration, continuous improvement, and a strong service culture.
- Analyze employee and guest satisfaction data to develop strategies addressing weaknesses and bolstering strengths.
- Ensure that team members have the necessary skills and motivation to achieve performance expectations.
- Lead by example with confidence, enthusiasm, and energy.
- Educate staff about the evolving expectations and needs of guests, fostering exceptional service.
- Assist in managing day-to-day operations across room-related departments and ensure adherence to property-specific recovery plans.
- Publish guest satisfaction feedback promptly and take proactive actions regarding employee and guest concerns.
- Maintain professionalism and courtesy in interactions with employees and guests.
- Communicate property goals and results transparently to employees and conduct semiannual one-on-one meetings with staff.
- Help the team with scheduling aligned to guest flow and occupancy targets.
- Participate in hourly tasks to support operations as necessary.
- Assist in hiring processes, ensuring thorough orientation and fair administration of discipline and policies.
- Celebrate team successes and recognize individual contributions publicly.
- Participate in annual quality audits and monitor financial data to support cost control and improvement initiatives.
