Rig Manager - Saudi Arabia

Overview

At H&P, our employees are our greatest asset, and we uphold this through strong leadership and adherence to safety standards. We are seeking a Rig Manager to oversee the safe and efficient operation of drilling rigs in Saudi Arabia.

Key Responsibilities

• Uphold H&P’s core values and maintain safety standards rigorously.
• Manage safe operations of the facility including the work site, personnel, and equipment under direct supervision while complying with health, safety, and environmental laws.
• Lead and supervise area teams by prioritizing work, scheduling assignments, interviewing, training, counseling, and recommending personnel actions.
• Develop project objectives and operational plans including manpower requirements aligning with senior management directives.
• Monitor drilling operations to ensure safety and efficiency, recommending procedural improvements as needed.
• Revise standards, operating procedures, and introduce programs to reduce operational costs and enhance performance with clear communication to the team.
• Investigate incidents and submit comprehensive reports on accidents and injuries.
• Plan and coordinate the erection, dismantling, and relocation of drilling rigs and ensure timely delivery of necessary tools and supplies.
• Perform rig inspections and provide detailed condition reports; oversee maintenance adherence.

Rig Management Specifics

• Assess well bore results to guide drilling decisions.
• Act as a liaison between the company and oil site personnel.
• Prepare detailed reports for management on drilling progress, operational challenges, and equipment needs.
• Stay current with assigned WorkDay training modules.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Proficient in PC applications including E.A.M., H&P software, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
• Demonstrated leadership and excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.

• Strong adherence to HSE standards and CARE processes including coaching safety practices and preventing workplace hazards.

• Capability in managing rig maintenance schedules and performing under flexible, adaptable conditions.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and local regulations; coordinate with authorities as needed.
• Implement safety and security measures protecting personnel, company property, and IT resources.
• Provide frequent reporting and collaborate closely with Operations Manager and Superintendent.
• Promote positive employee relations to maintain uninterrupted labor supply and comply with legal standards.
• Open to continuous learning about Saudi regulatory frameworks affecting drilling operations, HSE, finance, immigration, logistics, and employee relations.
• Ability to effectively function in native environments.

Experience and Qualifications

Minimum of 6 years' supervisory-level drilling rig experience is required.
