Requirements Engineer

About the Role

We seek a motivated and dynamic Requirements Engineer passionate about crafting solutions that assist our clients in maintaining compliance with their tax responsibilities. This role demands resilience and collaboration across multiple teams to ensure timely deliveries within regulatory frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Gain a profound understanding of local tax regulatory needs and stakeholder demands to translate them into a structured requirement backlog aimed at delivering durable software solutions.
• Offer engineering and analytical expertise to aid in solution evaluation alongside product owners, stakeholders, and peers from inception through development.
• Design and assess test cases; support and coordinate with quality assurance teams during execution to guarantee the delivered product aligns with specified requirements.
• Work closely with cross-functional Agile scrum teams to iteratively meet business objectives within a regulated software delivery environment.
• Interpret front-to-back business use cases for order lifecycle flows, acting as a liaison between development teams and stakeholders.
• Structure and document requirements, including user stories and acceptance criteria, clearly and effectively, collaborating with development teams to enable successful software delivery.
• Identify all impacted individuals and systems due to functional and non-functional requirements, conducting comprehensive impact analyses.
• Ensure product quality from functional, non-functional, and cost-efficiency perspectives.

Team and Mission

You will join the Receiving Services Post Trade team within the Trade and Transfer Assets stream based in Doha. Supported by experienced regulatory tax reporting teams from Zürich and Doha, your mission is to accurately report UBS holdings and transactions to local tax authorities promptly and reliably for clients in Switzerland, Singapore, Hong Kong, Germany, and Italy.

Qualifications and Expertise

• Proven experience in a global banking environment.
• Familiarity with regulatory and reporting standards including CRS, AEI, FACTA, and CARF.
• Proficient in test design, execution, and automation of existing or new test cases.
• Competence in refining business requirements into cost-effective IT solutions.
• Excellent communication skills to present ideas and processes understandably to diverse audiences and manage stakeholder coordination.
• Strong analytical skills including process flow analysis and use-case modeling employing UML diagrams such as business concept and state diagrams.
• Experience operating effectively in high-pressure, global, and team-based settings; ability to work autonomously.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
• Curiosity and sound judgment in exploring AI integration to enhance workflow development, delivery, and optimization while maintaining compliance with policy and ethical standards.
