Team Overview

The JEG Operations and Regulatory Control team plays a critical role within Jefferies, managing key regulatory functions such as Transaction Reporting to BaFin and ESMA, handling German reporting mandates (AWV, MCC), overseeing outsourcing of operations to Jefferies International Limited through defined SLAs/KPIs, and coordinating internal and external audits on behalf of Operations.

Role Summary

Reporting to the Head of Regulatory and Operations Control in Frankfurt, the individual will collaborate extensively with London Operations, Internal Audit, Compliance, Technology, and other units to maintain regulatory compliance and implement enhancements to control frameworks and regulatory procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist and supervise daily activities related to regulatory functions under the guidance of the Head of JEG Regulatory and Operations Control.
• Support transaction reporting and foreign trade reporting (AWV) submissions to Bundesbank and oversee adherence to the Market Conformity Check (MCC) requirements per MaRisk.
• Facilitate outsourcing governance by monitoring service delivery, managing performance metrics, coordinating attestations, conducting review meetings, and maintaining documentation for regulatory scrutiny by BaFin.
• Analyze transaction reporting issues, support database queries for swift anomaly resolution, and ensure daily compliance with MiFID II, EMIR, HKMA, SFTR, SIX, and venue-specific reports especially where Jefferies International Limited executes on European venues (third-country venues).
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, coordinating audit and regulatory correspondence and documentation.
• Support new business initiatives by gathering evidence and conducting database queries for Operations' User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Manage administrative tasks including mail, confirmations, and invoices, ensuring proper distribution within teams.
• Track project progress, highlight risks or delays, and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve issues promptly.
• Serve as the escalation point for assigned issues and escalate critical matters to the Head of Regulatory and Operations Control.
• Monitor management information reports to detect trends and propose data-driven insights.
• Identify and implement efficiency and control improvements whenever feasible.

Candidate Profile

• Proven expertise in Regulatory Reporting and building robust regulatory control and governance frameworks.
• Detail-oriented with a strong control mindset and ability to escalate concerns appropriately.
• Experience collaborating with auditors and regulators effectively.
• Skilled in documenting and defining test outcomes clearly.
• Familiarity with tools such as Axiom, UnaVista, and DTCC is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities combined with confidence in proposing innovative ideas.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Visio, Word, and PowerPoint.
• University degree qualification required.
