About HealthCorps

Role Overview
We seek a motivated and personable Regional Program Coordinator to launch and oversee a wellness initiative serving teens in Pittsburgh that encourages healthier lifestyle choices. This part-time, hybrid position involves coordinating efforts with universities and schools to deploy trained near-peer college mentors who deliver HealthCorps' health programming in middle and high schools throughout the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop partnerships with local universities, schools, districts, and community organizations to implement programming across 15–25 schools.
- Assist in recruiting, training, onboarding, and supervising near-peer mentors responsible for delivering school-based activities.
- Conduct research on local health disparities and evaluate program impact through data tracking and reporting.
- Manage logistics supporting health education events, including scheduling and procuring materials.
- Lead direct delivery of educational lessons and host community health events.
- Contribute creatively to the promotion of HealthCorps initiatives via social media channels and stakeholder communications.
- Uphold and promote HealthCorps’ mission to increase health equity and wellness accessibility.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree preferred; associate degree or equivalent experience acceptable.
- Recent college graduates passionate about health, education, and community service.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently.
- Experience engaging with youth in educational or mentorship roles.
- Strong communicator with interpersonal skills suited to diverse audiences.
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a changing environment.
- Creative mindset with enthusiasm for launching new programs.
- Open to continuous professional and personal development.
- Culturally conscious with commitment to equity and inclusion.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office; bilingual abilities advantageous.
Physical and Travel Requirements
- Extended computer work periods.
- Travel up to 50 miles within the Pittsburgh area, including occasional overnight and annual training trips.
- Ability to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds.
Compensation and Work Setting
This part-time role offers an hourly wage of $20, variable by qualifications and location. While the position is remote, it requires regular travel to program locations and may include evening, weekend, and some overnight commitments.
