Regional Collections Manager - Front End (Indore)

Overview

The Risk & Compliance department monitors individual client exposure and overall portfolio health to detect early signs of financial stress and reduce non-performing assets. This monitoring is conducted collaboratively with Business Teams, as the Risk Management Group is not present at branch locations. The department also oversees recovery of overdue loans from defaulting customers in coordination with Business Teams. This role focuses on optimizing business profitability by effectively managing the delinquent loan portfolio within the Housing Finance segment.

Role Responsibilities

• Lead and manage field teams and external agencies to ensure prompt collection activities across all delinquency stages.
• Develop and sustain a motivated collections team dedicated to high performance and work satisfaction.
• Oversee recruitment, training, and mentoring efforts for the team; set team objectives and regularly assess progress.
• Ensure adherence to compliance, regulatory mandates, and customer experience standards during collections processes.
• Utilize alternative recovery strategies, including legal approaches, to maximize collection and recovery rates.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and engagement sessions to bolster team motivation and results.
• Demonstrate strong negotiation skills to effectively persuade overdue clients to settle their outstanding payments.

Challenges and Expectations

• Gain thorough understanding of home loan and loan against property (LAP) product lending and collection dynamics.
• Manage delinquency flow rates across different stages with the goal of monthly reduction in credit losses for the region.
• Handle complexities of secured lending involving legal processes and complete documentation requirements.
• Cooperate with risk teams by gathering customer information useful for future credit decisions.
• Continuously lead and motivate the team to maintain high morale and motivation.
